Unsubscribe? Sure, please hold...

Why is it that when you sign up for a service like RealRhapsody it’s the easiest thing in the world.  Click here, give us your credit card and you’re done.  No waiting.  We’re your best buddy.

But when you want to unsubscribe, they don’t even give you an email address.  You have to call them.

I’m sitting on hold, now going on the 20th minute, listening to the same crappy John Denver song with RealRhapsody.com.  They’re not even giving me good music (it’s a damn music service, damn it!).  Can you picture it?  They have one phone for unsubscribers, and 10 guys sitting around looking at it right now.  Fred, the sympathetic one, reaches for it and the “Customer Service Manager” reaches over and slaps him on the wrist with a mini-whip.  “Patience, Fred!  He’ll give up in a minute.”

23 minutes…

25 minutes…

I actually struggled with the decision to keep or drop this service, because I like it.  Now, however, there’s no way I’ll keep it.  I hate them now.

28 minutes…

55 minutes…

I’m not kidding…115 minutes…
